Day #8: A Day of..... Rest?

Sunday, the Sabbath, is the day of rest all over the world.... that is everywhere but BYU.
Seems strange, right? I mean at such a church centered university, you'd think that you would be able to rest on Sundays.

Not the case.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that there are sporting events, dance parties, boating trips or things like that.  It's not that people don't go to church or do their home and visiting teaching or anything.

I'm sure I'm not the only student at BYU who would agree that Sunday is simply their busiest day. It's usually full of wonderful, spiritual, naps, and Sunday appropriate activities..... but with everything going on... I just don't know if I would consider it restful.

That being said, Sundays at BYU are also my favorite days.

With firesides, powerful church meetings, visiting with friends, naps, no homework, game nights, dessert nights, singing, writing letters, home and visiting teaching..... it's a day of spiritual and social highs.  It's a day to reflect and worship: a day to love the life you live.

It's a day to be thankful.
